
Salsa Beyond Basics (L2) - 8-Week Series
Service Description
This Beyond-Basics Salsa Course is designed for dancers who took enough beginner classes, already feel comfortable with the fundamentals, and are eager to step into more sophisticated territory. (if you are not sure you can ask your instructor if it's the right time to move up). This class is taught by the talented Mario Cervantes, a seasoned dance instructor with over 15 years of extensive experience in in teaching Salsa as well as various other Latin dance styles (see bio below) In this 8-week journey - Starts Dec 5th, 2025 - Jan 30th, 2026 (Off on Dec 26th) - you’ll go beyond steps and patterns to discover what makes salsa truly captivating - musicality, connection, and expressive movement. You’ll fine-tune your footwork, master body isolations, and explore advanced partner work that challenges your timing, control, and creativity. Expect to refine your spins, add stylish flair to your turns, and develop a deeper connection with both the rhythm and your dance partner. As the course unfolds, you’ll also gain confidence in performing and interpreting music, learning how to dance with expression and intention, not just memorized moves. Each week builds on the last, blending technique, rhythm, and style into a powerful learning experience that transforms your social dancing. No dance partner, no problem! You don't need to worry about bringing a dance partner along, as we actively promote partner rotation during our sessions to enrich your overall dancing experience. Shoes? Bring a comfortable pair, especialy one that will pivot on a tile surface, have flat bottoms to medium heels, and have ankle support. Class Instructor's bio: Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Mario began dancing jazz and Mexican folk at a young age and later trained internationally in ballet, contemporary, and Latin rhythms. By age 15, he was already teaching Latin dance while continuing his professional training. His career includes performing with top dance companies, representing Mexico in international folk festivals (Italy, Russia, U.S.), and choreographing for television, cultural events, and private productions.
